This wedding was an absolute blast to work on! Laura & Gina’s colourful festival wedding was a weekend-long, sunflower-y extravaganza at Hidden River Barn in Cumbria. They had space hoppers, a bouncy castle, a cheese wedding cake, gnome table pieces…the works! The day was relaxed, fun, and full of love.
Laura and Gina handed the hard work over to us with our Full Wedding Planning Package. Keep scrolling to see the best bits!
These wonderful brides injected so much personality into their colourful festival wedding. Their decor was full of happy sunflowers and gnomes, because Gina loves them! The festival/camping vibe was brought to life by rainbow flags and bunting, as well as DIY wooden signs around the site. They even handmade and painted camping mugs as wedding favours for all their guests! From the barn wedding ceremony to the outdoor festival and glamping, there wasn’t a dull moment!
One essential for a fun outdoor wedding… games! These guests look so joyful playing with the space hoppers, bouncy castle, sack races, rodeo bull and lazer tag. Wether you go DIY or hire your wedding entertainment, garden games are a sure way to make your day memorable. Laura and Gina gave everyone coloured wristbands to create some friendly competition for day 2!
Laura and Gina decided a wedding cake just wasn’t ‘them’… So they had 4 tiers of cheese instead, topped with a fabulous cake topper of them and their gorgeous pup!
To satisfy the sweet tooths, they had a sweetie bar. But this wasn’t just any sweetie bar… This one was garden themed! Think chocolate soil, gummy worms and plant pots filled with goodies!
These brilliant brides saved a LOT of money on their wedding wear! With a Friday night party, a barn wedding day on the Saturday, and a Sunday of outdoor fun, they needed to look the part. For 3 days of celebration, they had 3 wedding dresses each, coming to an affordable total of £200 each! You can find some gorgeous things on the high street and save a fortune.
Again, thinking practically, Gina had her sunflower bouquet made of paper. These looked bright, cheerful and will last a lifetime.
To add a little ‘pazazz’ to themselves and their guests, they hired a glitter bar! This was fun for children and adults alike, with everyone covered in sparkles by the end of the wedding.
Speaking of ‘pazazz’… even the dogs dressed up for this colourful festival wedding! These fashionable pooches are too cute!
We hope this colourful festival wedding has brought you some inspiration! We love an outdoor wedding here at that black and white cat. Want to know more? Come and say hi on Instagram or check out our wedding planning packages. Happy planning!
