Mick & Hazel’s wedding

It was our absolutely pleasure to be involved in Mick & Hazel’s wedding. A ceremony held at the Town Hall in Swadlincote, followed by a reception at the Three Horse Shoes in Barton-under-Needwood, Derbyshire.

The theme was rustic countryside with a lot of personalised touches. The couples dogs (Bella, Milly and Patches) and love of gardening took pride of place in the cake and table names. A touch of the countryside was brought in with natural flower arrangements. Photos of the couple were hung with pegs from garden twine around the venue. Miniature ladybirds adorned some of the pegs adding to the garden theme.

The cake nearly never made it to the wedding day after Patches, the couples dog, decided to eat a significant chunk of the vegetable patch just a few days before! Fortunately Sara at Cake Invaders worked her magic and you couldn’t even tell afterwards.

The favours were sapling trees which could be planted by the guests afterwards as a lasting memory of the day. A DIY table planner was made out of a recycled pallet.
