Stunning tipi wedding in Nottingham

A + B's stunning tipi wedding

Every tipi wedding that we do is special. However, A + B’s wedding day in late September was a truly special one. Mainly because just 8 weeks before we came on board their previously wedding venue had cancelled on them as they’d gone into administration! I remember getting the call from A’s mum asking if I could help them rearrange the wedding day to an outdoor wedding venue. Of course, I had to say yes to helping and 8 weeks later here we were!

It was a beautiful tipi wedding day for an awesome couple and their amazing families who pulled together to make the day happen. The weather played ball (always good!), there was a London double decker bus, horsebox bar, lots of music, evening pizzas and sparklers to end the day. All set in a stunning outdoor setting. Lets check it out!

Arranging a tipi wedding in 8 weeks!

Venue

Glebe Farm, near Gunthorpe was the perfect tipi wedding venue for the rearranged wedding. It even has its own private lake!

Infrastructure

Power, toilets, lighting, water ... all booked and confirmed in a few weeks. Our favourite was the 100m run of festoon lighting for the entrance road.

Suppliers

We also sourced a horsebox bar and caterers for the couple.

Ceremomy at West Bridgford Hall

A&B got married at the popular West Bridgford Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham with their closest family & friends. The perfect start to the day.

All aboard!

And all aboard to the London double decker bus to take the wedding guests to the tipi wedding venue near Gunthorpe. The setting next to the private lake was truly stunning.

The wedding reception

There was certainly lots of emotion in the wedding speeches – after rescuing your wedding day after the venue cancelled there was bound to be! I love the photo’s captured by Angela Ward Brown Photography

And can I put it out there that B’s dad did one of the best father of the bride speeches I have ever heard. No wonder there was tears. He was also a talented craftsman and made all the wooden apples on the tables himself. Check out the photos below in the gallery.

And as the sun sets

Time for some smooching by the lake as the sun set in the distance – right opposite the tipi entrance (and yes, purposely so!). As the evening went on the log fires in the tipi created a warm atmosphere for the party to continue into the early hours.
