We’re so pleased to be able to share with you James and Laura’s stunning marquee wedding from last summer. We provided our design and styling service alongside our bespoke calligraphy service.
The couple chose a stunning gold, cream and greenery colour palette with some little twists. So be prepared for some serious marquee wedding gorgeousness packed with personality!
Whilst we were busy setting up everything in the marquee, the bridal party were having a relaxing morning getting ready on site at the Manners Arm’s in Knipton, near Grantham. There was first chance to see the brides gorgeous dress, as well as, the awesome flowers from Sophies Flower Co.
We provided our wedding design service, for this wedding. A hand written table plan with gold leaf corners was set inside our ornate gold frame with an added greenery surround. Individual place settings were provided in the same design with matching table markers. A bespoke calligraphy sign was created for redemption of the drinks tokens.
My top tip for designing your marquee wedding – the colour palette – think of it like the glue that binds everything together. If you have a clear view of your colour palette (Here it was gold, green and cream) it makes it easier to pull together all your suppliers. Share your colour palette with your florist & stylist and away you go!
For this marquee wedding it was all about the details and there was plenty of them throughout
– Custom made, personalised wooden drink tokens draped around bottled favours made by the bride & groom (I totally loved these & they’re a fabulous keepsake too! See picture below!)
– On trend greenery draped down from large balloons filled with gold metallic flashes. A gorgeous alternative to a traditional table centrepiece which took full advantage of the height in the marquee
– BAR letters. Definitely not your standard white 4ft BAR letters! Tese were made from bronze/copper metal which matched the colour palette perfectly
Another key factor was lighting – it can really make or break a venue. For this marquee wedding we added festoon lighting up to the roof of the marquee and placed uplighters around the edge. Fairy lights were also draped around the wooden central poles.
The wedding service was held in the conservatory of the Manners Arms, with the wedding party underneath a custom marquee set up outside. We carried through the colour palette from the marquee with balloons either side of the ceremony table and matching flowers / sashes down the central aisle.
This was one wedding reception that I wish I had been a guest at! Apparently the diving mask was part of the speeches! With a live band for the evening a good time was had by all!
Now is probably a good point for me to talk about the gorgeous petal wedding marquee used on the day and provided by Every Occassions Marquees. A gorgeous alternative to a traditional wedding marquee – I particularly loved the two wooden central poles and the flowing roof canopy. The clear panels around the outside brought in natural light and could be placed to suit your requirements. Just perfect!
